The Board of Director of Consolidated Rural Water District No. 4 met Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at 5:30 P.M., at Soldier Township Fire Department meeting room, 600 NW 46th Street, Topeka, KS 66618.
The Board of Directors of Consolidated Rural Water District No. 4, Shawnee County, Kansas, met at Soldier Township Fire Department at 600 NW 46th Street, Topeka, KS 66618 on March 12, 2019. Board members present were: Jerry Glasgow, Ed Cline, Ron Brown, Alan Chapas, Jim Ellis, Robert Kahler, Rick Schmidt, and Chad Lady. Joel Stuke was absent. Others present: Mike Weishaar, Alisa Grollmes, Todd Luckman, Louis Funk, Rashell Mize, Grant Huddin and Nick Brady.
Chairman, Jerry Glasgow called the meeting to order at 5:30 P.M.
Motion by Rick Schmidt seconded by Alan Chapas to approve the February 12, 2019 minutes as presented; motion carried.
Motion by Ron Brown seconded by Chad Lady to approve the monthly bills and additional list of bills as presented; motion carried.
Motion by Rick Schmidt seconded by Jim Ellis to approve the BUC’s as presented provided they are within the established boundaries of the District; motion carried.
Louis reported on his visit with Randy Wolf regarding the transmission line to the Menoken Plant. He also provided the board with a quote to paint the pipes in the Menoken Plant from Neale Painting and Special Coating.
Motion by Rick Schmidt seconded by Alan Chapas to accept the paint proposal for the Menoken Plant pipes as submitted; motion carried.
Nick reported that Dustin Hoffman, Hoffman Brother’s, Hoyt, KS drilled out the clarifier.
Grant Huddin, CPA, presented the 2018 Audit report.
Motion by Jerry Glasgow seconded by Ed Cline to approve the audit as presented; motion carried.
Jerry Glasgow expressed his condolences to Alisa for the loss of her father-in-law, Francis Grollmes.
Jerry Glasgow reported that he wishes to hold off a decision on the security cameras until next month. He wants to speak to two security specialists when they return to Kansas. The board will discuss this again next month.
Jerry Glasgow gave his thanks to Ed Cline for his dedication to the district for forty-three (43) years upon his retirement.
Ed Cline talked of his experiences over his forty-three (43) years as a director on the Board. He plans to enjoy his retirement with his wife.
Motion by Ron Brown seconded by Rick Schmidt to adjourn.
